FilerKaro tax year 2026 · deadline 30 Sept
about

Who built FilerKaro, and why

My name is Abdul Rafy Ahmed. I am a solo founder in Pakistan and I write every line of FilerKaro myself. There is no team behind this page and no call centre. If you email support, I am the person who reads it.

the problem

Freelancers do not overpay tax because they are careless

They overpay because the arithmetic is fiddly in ways nobody warns them about. Every dollar that lands has to be converted at the State Bank rate for the date it was received, not the rate today and not a yearly average, so a year of Payoneer and Wise credits is a few hundred separate conversions. Then you decide whether your export income sits under the section 154A final tax regime, where the bank deduction on each remittance is the whole story, or under normal slabs, where it is not. Then there is the 0.25% rate PSEB registration unlocks in place of 1%, which plenty of freelancers qualify for and never claim. Then the wealth statement, where most people filing on their own give up.

None of it is hard. It is just long, and it is the kind of long people put off until the last week of September. The usual alternative is an accountant who hands back a submitted return you cannot explain a single line of.

what it does

It does the arithmetic and shows you every field

You give FilerKaro your payment exports from Payoneer, Wise, Upwork, Fiverr, direct SWIFT or a bank statement, and it builds a month by month ledger with each receipt converted at the rate for its own date. It computes your tax under the final tax regime and under normal slabs side by side, so the choice is a comparison rather than a guess. It credits the tax your bank already withheld and checks that your wealth statement reconciles.

What comes out is a filing pack: a computation statement where every line names the section it comes from, an IRIS walkthrough naming which tab, which field and which number to type into it, a document checklist, and your next steps. The estimate on the home page is free and needs no signup.

what it is not

FilerKaro is software, not a tax adviser

This matters enough to say plainly. FilerKaro does not file your return and cannot file your return. You submit it yourself on IRIS, with your own login, and you are responsible for what you submit. FilerKaro computes from FBR published rules for tax year 2026 using the figures you give it, and shows you where every figure came from so you can check it. It is not a filing agent, and it does not replace a chartered accountant in genuinely complicated cases.

Some cases are out of scope on purpose: companies and associations of persons, non-residents, capital gains computation, rental income schedules, agricultural income, and provincial sales tax on services. If your filing needs one of those, FilerKaro says so rather than producing a confident wrong answer.

how it is built

One person, and a rules engine you can argue with

The tax arithmetic lives in one versioned rules module, stamped ty2026, with every rate and slab sourced to the published rule it comes from and tested against worked examples. That version is printed on your pack. If a figure looks wrong to you, email me and tell me which one: I check it against the rules engine myself and either explain it or fix it.
